Page Order

Why the binder moves from safety to solitude, then memory to passage

The order matters to me as much as the individual themes. Volume I moves from safety through energy and conflict, then settles into solitude. Volume II starts with closeness, looks backward through time, and ends at a point of departure.

Volume I — Lived Experience

Volume I focuses on how Pokemon exist in the world — how they move, rest, threaten, think, and belong. The arc builds from safety to intensity, then resolves in stillness.

Belonging → Motion → Power → Threat → Reflection

Large-scale mythic or overwhelming power is intentionally constrained so it doesn’t dominate the narrative.

Chapter I — Belonging & Safety

How Pokemon are held by the world

  • Calm in Nature
  • World of People
  • At Rest

The binder opens with ease and familiarity before anything more intense appears.

Chapter II — Motion & Life

How Pokemon move through the world

  • Joyful Action
  • Journey (if/when it emerges)

The pace picks up and the images become more active.

Chapter III — Power Awakening (Binder Hinge)

How Pokemon become

  • Awakened Power
  • Legendary Bearing

At the midpoint, gathered energy gives way to confidence and scale.

Chapter IV — Threat & Conflict

How Pokemon overwhelm

  • Intimidation
  • On the Attack

The most confrontational pages sit together before the binder begins to quiet down.

Chapter V — Isolation & Reflection

How Pokemon withdraw

  • Elemental Solitude
  • Contemplation

Volume I ends in stillness after its most active chapters.

Volume II — Memory, Presence, and Passage

Volume II is quieter and more compact. Where Volume I mostly follows action and posture, Volume II pays more attention to relationship, memory, and transition.

Chapter I — Nearness

How Pokemon are held close

  • Companions
  • Quiet Familiarity

The opening establishes warmth and closeness — Pokemon woven into daily life and relationship.

Chapter II — Permanence

How Pokemon endure

  • Enduring Presence

The midpoint slows down around images that carry visible age, repetition, or memory.

Chapter III — Passage

How Pokemon exist at edges

  • Threshold

The binder resolves at a visible edge — a path, doorway, shoreline, horizon, departure, or arrival. The final feeling is not action, but transition.

Volume II has been harder for me to build because its themes depend on specific visual evidence, not atmosphere alone. That constraint is also what makes the sequence useful.
